Hello everyone!
My 11th graders presented their crime fiction short story. They created their own detective agency and their suspect wanted poster. It was really fun! The stories were original and creative. Great job everyone! Hello everyone!
We talked at the beginning of the year how English impacts our society and why do we need to learn English? I found an interesting blog where it can show you how important biligualism can be for everyone. Click here and read the article. After reading the article, make your comment here. http://bilingualmonster.com/teachers-corner/articles/how-the-brain-benefits-from-being-bilingual Thank you all for celebrating with us our English Week. We had a blast and it was amazing! Hope you had fun too!
It's crazy how we live and share the same planet yet we hurt each other. The following video is about stereotypes. Have you ever been marked with a stereotype? Answer the following question:
What are the most common stereotypes we face in our culture? Please share this video and let's make a conscience that we are different but we all are humans. Don't let stereotypes define you. Please comment! Arigato! Hello everyone! Konishiwa! It's been a super hectic January- February. Soon I will be posting the pictures of the Valentine's Day Post Card Activity. All of my students were really creative and I am truly happy.
On March 16-20, 2015 we are going to celebrate our English Week in our school. I am really looking forward to it. I planned the following activities : * Poster Exhibition *Oratory * Poetry Writing and Recital *Video Festival *Podcast This year's theme is "DIVERSITY IN ENGLISH PROMOTES UNITY FOR FUTURE GENERATIONS" Pretty awesome, don't you think? Remember to present in your work the theme of the English Week and to be as creative as you can be. Now, I found a video that gives us the concept of Diversity. Watch it on youtube. Tenth graders working on a project called "My Fictional Character Lapbook", they created their own protagonist and antagonist. After that they had to make an oral report presenting their characters. It was really fun!
Hi! Konishiwa! Hello!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas holiday! I always love this season because you can feel the true family love in the air. Now that we are back to school, let's make the best of it. So come prepared to have the best time and pour your heart and brain into learning new skills and polish the ones that you already have. See you around! May the odds be ever in your favor. First of all, we are natural editors. How do I know this? When you wake up everyday you take your time to comb your hair, choose the clothes you are going to wear, and do your morning routine. All of these aspects are a way to improve < edit and revise> your former self. Waking up like a scene from the "Into the Storm" movie to the gallant and beautiful-- after all the improvements-- self.
By the way, the movie is adrenaline and action packed-- awesome movie. Back to the topic, the former analogy explains that we are constantly editing ourselves in order to reach a satisfactory version that we want. The same is with the revision and editing process. We are going to start the challenge of working with the process of writing and essays. We need to tune in our natural editing instincts but to our daily lives of writing. Remember that the way you develop these skills, the better editor you become. So, I challenge you to use this editing marks, learn them, be one with them. Because pretty soon we are going to rock those essays! |
